We started working towards ISO14001 in October 2009. ISO14001 ensures that all legal requirements are complied with and that continual improvement is achieved year on year with pollution prevention and reduction in the use of non sustainable resources being priorities. A list has been drawn up of all relevant legislation that applies to Kingston Carton.
Conservation of energy and natural resources reduces our environmental impacts.
Minimisation of waste in production and a reduction in the use of solvents will ensure targets are met and together with a clean and hygienic working environment give a better place for employees.
Noise levels will be reduced to benefit employees and the local community.
Waste produced during our production process will be recycled where possible or sent to registered handlers where it will be disposed of legally.
Our Environmental Impacts have been identified and Environmental Objectives & Targets set.
These initially focus on energy reduction (lighting in particular) and reduction in the use of resources.
Emergency Preparedness and Response has been implemented to ensure speedy reaction and communication with all relevant authorities in the event of a major incident.
Stage 1 of the assessment is due in June this year with full assessment expected in November this year.
