Kingston Carton Invests in Six-Colour B1
ROLAND 706 to provide both UV and conventional printing

One of the UK's leading privately owned carton specialists, Hull-based Kingston Carton, has ordered a ROLAND 706 LV during its visit to IPEX. The six-colour with coater machine will provide the ability to print with both UV and conventional inks, with a switchround time of just 15 minutes. The press is also equipped with MAN Roland's ColorPilot system to ensure consistent and reliable colour on the run.

As well as the ability of the ROLAND 700 to handle the longer runs demanding by many customers in the packaging sector, Kingston Carton were impressed by MAN Roland's QuickChange capabilities, which have been designed to speed up make-ready functions.
Arend Buitendam Jnr, Print Supervisor at the company, said: "There is undoubtedly a move to shorter runs in the industry, and certainly a good proportion of our work now requires us to put just 2,000 sheets or less through the press. Therefore the ability to move from one job to the next is becoming more and more important. MAN Roland's QuickChange features allow us to do just that. This new machine will allow us to capture the next generation of carton business."
The six-colour configuration of the machine will provide the ability to incorporate two special colours in addition to standard four-colour process.
Specials will include metallic inks. The dedicated coating unit with extended delivery will offer the very best quality in coating available.
