Charity Win Donation
Grand National Win Donated to Local Charity
Kingston Carton’s recent win on The Grand National Charity Sweepstake, organised by Geo. Houlton & Son Ltd, a local building and maintenance contractor, was donated to Candlelighters, St. James Hospital Leeds. Candlelighters is a Yorkshire based charity dedicated to helping support children with cancer or serious blood disorders and their families, whilst at the same time promoting research in childhood cancer.
Kingston Carton’s Chairman, David Wilson said: "It is essential that local charities, such as Candlelighters receive continued support from their local community. They require much needed funds to improve the facilities for children being treated at the Unit in Leeds, to purchase the latest medical equipment and to encourage support groups for parents".
Sarah Buitendam, a local fundraiser for Candlelighters added: "Candlelighter’s aim is to find a cure for childhood cancer. For this to happen, money is needed for research. Therefore, we rely heavily on the recognition and support from the local community and the support we have continued to receive from Kingston Carton has been very much appreciated and valued."
